Tiroidektomi sonrası intrainsizyonel uygulanan bupivakain uygulamasının ameliyat sonrası ağrı üzerine etkisi

Year 2004, Volume: 1 Issue: 4, 28 - 32, 01.08.2004

Abstract

The effect of ıntraincisional bupivacaine ınfiltration on postthyroidectomy pain

Year 2004, Volume: 1 Issue: 4, 28 - 32, 01.08.2004

Abstract

Background: In early postoperative period, neck pain is an important complaint in patients undergone thyroidectomy. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effect of early postoperative subcutane periincisional bupivacaine infiltration on postoperative neck pain in subjects undergone thyroidectomy. Methods: Thirty cases undergone thyroidectomy were included in the present study. The cases were assigned into two groups as study group and control group. Early postoperative subcutaneous 0.25 % solution, 10 cc bupivacaine was administered to study group. No local anesthesic agent was administered postoperatively to control group. Neck pain was evaluated using visual analog scala at 1., 4. and 12. hour of postoperative period in all subjects. Daily analgesic requirement of the cases were recorded. Results: Mean pain scores of study group were significiantly lower than control group at 1., 4., and 12. hour of postoperative period p
