Merinos Koyunlarının Erkek Eklenti Genital Bezleri Üzerine Histomorfolojik Araştırmalar

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Merinos koyunlarında erkek aksesuar genital bezlerinin (glandulae genitales accessoriae) histomorfolojik özelliklerini analiz etmeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu amaçla, 1.5-2 yaşında ve 35.1 ± 1.5 kg ağırlığındaki 14 erkek Merinos koyunundan aksesuar bezleri (ampulla ductus deferentis, glandula vesicularis, prostata ve glandula bulbourethralis) toplanmıştır. Bezler makroskopik olarak incelenmiş ve dijital kumpas kullanılarak uzunluk, genişlik ve kalınlık gibi morfometrik ölçümler yapılmıştır. Histolojik analiz için doku örnekleri rutin histolojik prosedürlerle işlendi ve 6–7 µm kalınlığında seri kesitler hazırlandı ve Mallory'nin üçlü boyama tekniği ile boyandı. Kesitler Olympus DP71 araştırma mikroskobu altında incelendi. Morfometrik analiz, ampulla ductus deferentis'in terminal genişleme oluşturduğunu, glandula vesicularis'in pelvik üretranın dorso-lateral yüzünde collum vesicae urinaria'nın kaudalinde yer aldığı, prostatın yalnızca pars disseminata'dan oluştuğu ve üretra duvarı içinde yaygın olarak dağıldığı ve glandula bulbourethralis'in pelvik üretranın terminal kısmında çift oval yapı olarak gözlemlendiği ortaya çıktı. Histolojik inceleme, glandula vesicularis'in basit kolumnar epitel ile kaplı, oldukça dallı tubuloalveolar bezlerden oluştuğunu gösterdi. Ampulla ductus deferentis tunica mukozası psodostratifiye kolumnar epitel sergilerken, prostat basit kolumnar epitel ile kaplı üretral propriada tubuloalveolar bezler içeriyordu. Sonuç olarak, bazı türlere özgü farklılıklar gözlemlense de, Merinos koyunlarında erkek aksesuar genital bezlerinin histolojik ve anatomik özellikleri genel olarak diğer geviş getiren türlerde bildirilenlerle tutarlıdır.

Histomorphological Investigations on Male Accessory Genital Glands of Merino Rams

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the histomorphological features of the male accessory genital glands (glandulae genitales accessoriae) in Merino sheep. For this purpose, accessory glands (ampulla ductus deferentis, glandula vesicularis, prostata, and glandula bulbourethralis) were collected from 14 male Merino sheep aged 1.5-2 years and weighing 35.1±1.5 kg. The glands were examined macroscopically, and morphometric measurements, including length, width, and thickness, were performed using a digital caliper. For histological analysis, tissue samples were processed through routine histological procedures, and 6-7 μm thick serial sections were prepared and stained with Mallory’s triple staining technique. Sections were examined under an Olympus DP71 research microscope. Morphometric analysis revealed that the ampulla ductus deferentis formed a terminal enlargement. The glandula vesicularis was located caudal
to the collum vesicae urinaria in the dorso-lateral aspect of the pelvic urethra. The prostate consisted solely of the pars disseminata and was diffusely distributed within the urethral wall. The glandula bulbourethralis was observed as a paired oval structure at the terminal portion of the pelvic urethra. Histological examination showed that the glandula vesicularis was composed of highly branched tubuloalveolar glands lined by a simple columnar epithelium. The ampulla ductus deferentis tunica mucosa exhibited a pseudostratified columnar epithelium, while the prostate contained tubuloalveolar glands within the urethral propria lined by simple columnar epithelium. In conclusion, although some species-specific differences were observed, the histological and
anatomical features of the male accessory genital glands in Merino sheep are generally consistent with those reported in other ruminant species.

Ethical Statement

This study used material from a slaughterhouse, and the tissue samples were not subject to ethical committee approval in accordance with the Regulation on the Working Procedures and Principles of Animal Experimentation Ethics Committees of the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs of the Republic of Turkey (dated: 15 February 2014, no: 28914).
