The Seroprevalence of Bovine Adenovirus (BAV type 1,2 and 3) Infection in Cattle in Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) Area

Abstract

This study was carried out to determine seroprevalences of Bovine Adenovirus (BAV) type 1, 2 and 3 infections in cattle housed in private farms in Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) area. For this purpose, 340 sera samples collected from randomly selected cattle, which are found in private farms from 9 provinces (Siirt, Diyarbakir, Batman, Adiyaman, Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin and Sirnak), in GAParea were used. Sera were tested for antibodies against BAV type 1, 2 and 3 using Serum Neutralization (SN) test. Seropositivity rate in sampled population for BAV 1, 2, 3 was detected as 55,5 %34,7 % and 51,7 %, respectively.
