Abstract
Sığırların Nodüler Ekzantemi (Lumpy Skin Disease; LSD) hastalığı, koyun ve keçi çiçek virüslerinin de üyesi olduğu
Poxviridae ailesinin Capripoxvirus cinsi içinde yer alan Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV) tarafından oluşturulmaktadır. LSD,
Afrika kökenli bir hastalık olmasına rağmen, İsrail, Ortadoğu ve Türkiye’ye komşu ülkelerde varlığı bildirilmiştir. Bu
enfeksiyon sığır yetiştiriciliği sektöründe ciddi ekonomik kayıplara yol açabilmektedir. LSD enfeksiyonu Türkiye’de de varlığı
yakın bir geçmişte bildirilmiştir. Bu derlemede, LSD hakkında güncel ve kapsamlı bilgiler toplamak ve bu yolla enfeksiyonun
kontrolüne katkı sağlanmak amaçlanmıştır.

Abstract
Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) is caused by Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV) belonging to the genus Capripoxvirus
which also includes sheep and goat poxviruses in the family Poxviridae. LSD is seen mainly on the African continent but has
also been reported from Israel, the Middle East and neighboring countries of Turkey. This infection in cattle may result in
serious economic loss to the livestock industry. Lumpy skin disease in cattle was reported in Turkey recently. In this review,
it was aimed to collect comprehensive information about lumpy skin disease, in this wise may help successful control of this
disease.
