Poly-β-Hydroxybutyric Acid (PHB) Production of Root Nodule Bacteria of Vicia Sativa L

Abstract

In this study, the productions of poly-β-hydroxybutyric acid (PHB) on root nodule bacteria of Vicia sativa L. were
examined. Poly-β-hydroxybutyric acid (PHB) production by these isolates ranged from 0.100-0.428 g/l (w/v) depending on
the dry cell weight. The highest PHB yield was found in V1 isolate (77.3%). The activities of two enzymes of poli-β-
hydroxybutyric acid cycles were measured in isolates. The highest β-ketothiolase activity was found in V15 isolate and the
highest β-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase activity was found in V3 isolate.

Vicia Sativa L.’nin Kök Nodül Bakterilerinin Poli-β-Hidroksibütirik Asit (PHB) Üretimi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Vicia sativa L.’nın kök nodül bakterilerinde poli-β-hidroksibütirik asit (PHB) üretimleri incelenmiştir. Bu
izolatların poli-β-hidroksibütirik asit (PHB) üretimi, kuru hücre ağırlığına bağlı olarak 0.100-0.428 g/l (w/v) arasında
belirlenmiştir. En yüksek PHB verimi V1 izolatında (%77.3) bulunmuştur. İzolatlarda poli-β-hidroksibütirik asit döngüsünde
rol oynayan iki enzim aktiviteleri incelenmiştir. En yüksek β-ketothiolaz aktivite V15 izolatında, en yüksek β-hidroksibütirat
dehidrogenaz aktivite ise V3 izolatından alınmıştır.
