Gebelik ve Göz: Gebelik Döneminde Göz Hastalıkları Görülme Sıklığı

Year 2024, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 225 - 236, 15.05.2024

Abstract

Amaç: Konya Şehir Hastanesi Göz Kliniğinde muayene edilen gebe hastaların tanı sıklıklarını her üç trimester açısından değerlendirmek.
Hastaların %25’i 1. trimester, %38’i 2. trimester ve %36’sı 3. trimesterda idi.

Pregnancy and The Eye: Frequency of Eye Diseases During Pregnancy

Year 2024, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 225 - 236, 15.05.2024

Abstract

Aim: To determine the diagnosis frequency of pregnant patients examined at Konya City Hospital Ophthalmology Clinic.
Methods: All patients examined between January 2022 and October 2023 were scanned through the system. Among these patients, those who were between the ages of 15-45 and had simultaneous pregnancy diagnoses were identified. Pregnancy trimesters of the patients, diagnoses they received at the ophthalmology clinic, and examination calendar months were examined.
Results: The number of patients examined at Konya City Hospital Eye Clinic between the specified dates was 241,512. A total of 550 of these patients examined in the ophthalmology clinic were pregnant, and this number constituted 0.23% of all patients. According to trimesters, 25% of patients were in the 1st trimester, 38% were in the 2nd trimester, and 36% were in the 3rd trimester. The most common diagnosis in pregnant women at polyclinic admissions was Dry Eye Disease (DED) with 41%, the second was Refractive Error with 36%, and the third was Conjunctivitis with 13%.
Conclusion: In light of the data obtained in our study, the most common reason for admission to the ophthalmology clinic during pregnancy is DED. Since we planned our study retrospectively, no research was conducted on DED subtypes. With future studies, the incidence of other diseases such as DED and other common diseases in our country will be better evaluated. Diagnostic and treatment protocols can be created for these diseases.
