Abstract

19. yy. en önemli tarihçilerinden biri olarak kabul edilen Eric Hobsbawm’ın kaleme aldığı bu kitap, sadece akademisyenlere değil, dünya tarihine ilişkin çalışmalarıyla, dünyayı anlamak isteyen ve bu açıdan tarihin önemine inanan her kesim okuyucu kitlesine hitap etmektedir. İmparatorluk Çağı, kendi içinde bütünlüğü olan bir kitap olmasına karşın, 1776’dan 1914’e uzanan on dokuzuncu yüzyıla ilişkin genel bir araştırma niteliği kazanan bir çalışmanın üçüncü ve son cildidir.
