The Journal of Içtimaiyat welcomes research in the subjects of history, sociology, Political Science/İnternational Relations. Journal of Içtimaiyat is a double-sided and double-blinded peer-reviewed journal. The studies submitted to the journal must be prepared in accordance with the APA6 citation and bibliography system and the writing rules of the journal. Journal Template. Içtimaiyat is published electronically twice a year, in May and November, hosted by Dergipark. Although it is not obligatory, the journal may release a special issue in September by announcing its theme six months in advance. Articles to be published in the journal must be uploaded at least 60 days before the relevant issue.

Family is a universally accepted social institution because it is the most fundamental element and building block of society. It has existed in every period of history and in every society, albeit in different forms. Family, which is essential for the continuation and future of humanity, has not always remained the same throughout history and has changed in many ways. The institution of family, which has recently undergone a radical change with the industrial revolution, is experiencing another process of change-transformation in the period we live in, which is called information society, risk society, postmodern society, late-modern society, artificial intelligence society. In this context, trying to understand the change and transformation experienced by the family in the context of social change and transformation is one of the primary functions of social sciences. Due to the importance of the family, the Presidency declared 2025 as the “Year of the Family”. İçtimaiyat Magazine has also determined its 2025 Special Issue as “Family and Society”. The main themes of the magazine are within the framework of the titles stated below. However, the topics are not limited to the mentioned themes.

Dear researchers, As per the decision taken by the Editorial Board of the Journal of İçtimaiyat, the journal will no longer accept publications from the fields of Psychology, Socio-Economics, Turkish Language and Literature, and Philosophy as of 2025 in order to improve and accelerate the journal processes and to ensure that the journal is indexed in qualified indexes. In the following period, the Journal of İçtimaiyat will only accept publications from the fields of History, Sociology, Political Science and International Relations. We submit for your information.
