In this research, it was aimed to determine the level of knowledge of parents about emotional abuse and increase their awareness about emotional abuse. The research is a qualitative research and was carried out using the interview technique. Semi-structured interview technique, one of the interview techniques, was used in the research. Interviews consisting of 6 sessions were held with 12 parents. At the beginning of the study, it was determined that the parents in the study group had little knowledge about child abuse and neglect and emotional abuse, but this information was incomplete and/or inaccurate. The issue that should be emphasized is that every parent interviewed are very sensitive about their children and mostly act by thinking about the well-being of their children. However, it has been seen that, even though parents are so sensitive, they have behaviors that can be evaluated in the context of emotional abuse such as getting angry, shouting, not listening, punishing the room, expelling, threatening, ignoring, insulting and scolding their children. As a result of the interviews, it was determined that parents' attitudes towards bringing-up change positively, increased their level of knowledge about child abuse and neglect and emotional abuse, they developed awareness about their behavior within the scope of emotional abuse and there is a decrease in these behaviors. In other words, it was determined that the parents are gaining consciousness.
