Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Social Work

Abstract

The profession and discipline of social work ultimately focuses on the individual while aiming for them to be in a state of full physical, mental and social well-being. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), accepted by a wide range of people as an important mental problem, can harm an individual's well-being and add "new curves" to social life. It is precise that in this plane the importance of the social work profession which is built on the basis of knowledge, skills and values are better understood. This study focuses on the adventures of PTSD on literature and discussed in the light of the social work research with the applicants who have been diagnosed with PTSD.
