Problemlerle Başa Çıkmak: Huzurevinde Çalışan Birim Yöneticileri İçin Vaka Tabanlı Çıkarsama Yaklaşımı

Abstract

Dealing With Problems: A Case-Based Reasoning Approach for Nursing Home Unit Supervisors

Year 2017, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 35 - 46, 30.03.2017
https://doi.org/10.18394/iid.287762

Abstract

The increase in
aged population leads an increase in the number of elder care facilities at the
same time. With the elderly people who reside in these facilities, there are
also people from a variety of professions who serve to the elderly. People who
work in these facilities as managers are responsible for both solving problems
of the residents and keeping the work routine of the facility. So, in this
study, it is aimed to improve unit supervisors’ problem solving skills who work
in a nursing home which serves to about 800 residents. In line with this
purpose, with case based learning model, 4-week training was carried on through
a quasi experimental style. According to the results of quantitative data of
the participants who filled a pre-test and post-test, there were found no
differences; however, the results of qualitative data indicate that
participants find the training beneficial. These results showed that case based
teaching could be quite acceptable in these types of facilities.
