PEER REVIEW PROCESS

All manuscripts submitted to the Inönü University Journal of Culture and Art are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, which ensures mutual anonymity between authors and reviewers. Each submission is reviewed objectively by at least two independent external reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

All submissions first undergo a technical check to ensure compliance with the journal’s guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the required standards are returned to the authors for revision. Submissions that pass this stage are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief in terms of scope and academic suitability. Manuscripts that do not align with the journal’s publication policy may be rejected at this point.

In the next stage, Editors or Section Editors may decide to reject the manuscript, forward it to the peer review process, or request revisions before sending it for review. Based on the peer review reports, editors present their recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief. If necessary, revised manuscripts may be sent for additional review.

The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority on all publication decisions.

In cases of delays during the evaluation process, authors who inform the editorial board may be given the option to withdraw their submissions.

Upon completion of the review process, authors will receive the anonymous referee reports and the editorial decision. All submitted materials are treated as confidential during the review process and must not be used or disclosed prior to publication.

Authors may suggest potential reviewers at the time of submission; however, the decision to invite suggested reviewers rests solely with the handling editor.

Reviewers are expected to adhere to the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. Potential reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest to the editor before accepting an invitation to review. This is essential for ensuring the transparency and integrity of the evaluation process. All communications between editors and reviewers are confidential and must not be shared with third parties.

To ensure impartiality, the Inönü University Journal of Culture and Art appoints external editors for manuscripts submitted by members of the editorial board. These external editors are selected based on their academic qualifications and experience in peer review. All reviewers and external editors are expected to declare any potential conflicts of interest to maintain the integrity of the process.

If a manuscript has undergone an alternative peer review process, this will be clearly indicated within the article, thereby ensuring transparency.
