Artificial Intelligence in Various Educational Areas: Application Examples

Abstract

Today, technology is used extensively and as a result, the use of artificial intelligence has come to the fore. With artificial intelligence coming to the fore, interest in it has increased, and educational institutions have also been affected by this situation. Artificial intelligence applications used as personalized or adaptive intelligent learning systems in education and training have emerged. In this study, artificial intelligence applications in various educational areas were examined. Artificial intelligence applications in various educational areas are classified into three groups: (1) Intelligent Tutoring Systems, (2) Expert Systems and (3) Chatbots. (1) Smart Tutoring Systems are personalized learning environments that are carried out step by step in accordance with the individual characteristics of students in well-structured fields such as mathematics, physics or medicine. (2) Expert Systems are artificial intelligence-supported systems that provide expert knowledge in a field. (3) Chatbots are artificial intelligence-supported chat robots that answer students' questions and help them. Application examples from each group in the study are introduced in terms of what the application is, what the features of the application are, what the application is used for, and how the application can be used. In the study, information was given about artificial intelligence applications in various educational areas and awareness was created.

Farklı Eğitim Alanlarında Yapay Zekâ: Uygulama Örnekleri

Abstract

Günümüzde teknoloji yoğun olarak kullanılmaktadır ve bunun bir sonucu olarak yapay zekanın kullanımı ön plana çıkmıştır. Yapay zekânın ön plana çıkmasıyla ona olan ilgi artmış, bu durumdan eğitim kurumları da etkilenmiştir. Eğitim ve öğretimde kişiselleştirilmiş veya uyarlanabilir akıllı öğrenme sistemleri olarak kullanılan yapay zekâ uygulamaları ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada farklı eğitim alanlarında yapay zekâ uygulamaları incelenmiştir. Farklı eğitim alanlarında yapay zekâ uygulamaları üç grupta sınıflandırılmıştır: (1) Akıllı Öğretici Sistemler, (2) Uzman Sistemler ve (3) Chatbotlar. (1) Akıllı Öğretici Sistemler, matematik, fizik veya tıp gibi iyi yapılandırılmış alanlarda öğrencilerin bireysel özelliklerine uygun, aşama aşama yürütülen ve kişiselleştirilmiş öğrenme ortamlarıdır. (2) Uzman Sistemler, bir alanda uzmanlık bilgisi sağlayan yapay zekâ destekli sistemlerdir. (3) Chatbotlar, öğrencilerin sorularına cevap veren ve onlara yardımcı olan yapay zekâ destekli sohbet robotlarıdır. Çalışmada her bir gruptan uygulama örnekleri; uygulamanın ne olduğu, uygulamanın özelliklerinin neler olduğu, uygulamanın ne amaçla kullanıldığı ve uygulamanın nasıl kullanılabileceği açılarından tanıtılmıştır. Çalışmada eğitimde yapay zekâ uygulamaları hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve farkındalık oluşturulmuştur.
