1. Initial Editorial Evaluation
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial review by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, overall structure, and adherence to basic submission guidelines.
At this stage, the editor may:
- Reject the manuscript with justification.
- Request revisions prior to peer review, or
- Proceed with assigning external reviewers for peer evaluation.
Estimated Duration: This stage is typically completed within 20 days from the date of submission.
2. Peer Review Assignment
Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent to at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are selected based on their subject-matter expertise and academic credentials. To be considered for publication, a manuscript must receive at least two positive recommendations from reviewers. Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts based on criteria outlined in the Reviewer Evaluation Form, including
- Originality and significance of the study,
- Methodological soundness,
- Contribution to the literature,
- Ethical compliance,
- Clarity and coherence of findings and conclusions.
In cases where reviewers recommend major revisions, the revised manuscript will be re-evaluated in a second round of peer review to ensure that the necessary improvements have been made. If the initial reviewers are unavailable or additional expert input is needed, the editorial board reserves the right to assign a third or even a fourth reviewer.
Estimated Duration: The peer review process is expected to be completed within a maximum of six months.
3. Editorial Decision
Upon completion of the peer review process, the editorial board reviews the reviewers’ reports and makes a final decision. A reasoned decision—whether acceptance, revision, or rejection—is communicated to the authors.
Estimated Duration: This final decision-making stage is typically completed within 1 month following the receipt of all reviewer reports.
4. Publication Phase
Once a manuscript is formally accepted for publication, it proceeds to the production stage. Accepted articles are typically published in the “Early View” section within approximately 1 month. This allows readers to access the accepted version before the formal issue is released. Before publication, authors are required to ensure that the final version of their manuscript meets the journal's formatting and technical requirements. Authors should carefully address the following:
- Ensure that the reference list is formatted according to the APA 7th Edition guidelines.
- Verify consistency between in-text citations and the reference list. All references cited in the text must appear in the bibliography and vice versa.
- Review all tables, figures, and graphs to ensure they comply with the IJESP formatting and style guidelines.
- Double-check author information, including institutional affiliation, e-mail address, and ORCID ID, and ensure the title and abstract are accurate and up-to-date.
Proofreading is mandatory prior to publication.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript professionally proofread by a qualified individual or a recognized language editing service.
- A clear statement must be included at the end of the manuscript indicating that the language editing or proofreading process has been completed.
- Proofreading may be performed by any competent individual or institution; however, the journal reserves the right to request documentation or additional revisions if language quality remains insufficient.
