Abstract

THE MEDIATOR ROLE OF KNOWLEDGE SHARING INTENTION BETWEEN PLANNED BEHAVIOR THEORY & KNOWLEDGE SHARING BEHAVIOR

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the knowledge sharing intention on the basis of planned behavior theory developed by Aizen (1985); to reveal the mediator role between perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, personal attitude and knowledge sharing behavior. Knowledge sharing of employees is an important factor in the knowledge management process. Therefore, determining the factors that affect the knowledge sharing behavior of individuals has a critical importance in achieving success in knowledge management. Since the knowledge sharing is a behavior for the benefit of organizations, it becomes important to determine the intentions of the members of the organization to perform this behavior and what the factors behind this intention are. This research is based in this direction. The data needed for the purpose of the study were collected by the survey method. The analysis of the obtained data was carried out with the SPSS program. Due to its homogeneous structure 179 questionnaires obtained from research assistants were evaluated. As a result of the research, it was determined that personal attitude has a significant effect on knowledge sharing behavior through the knowledge sharing intention, and behavioral control has a direct effect on knowledge sharing behavior. On the other hand, no significant effect of the subjective norm was determined. It was revealed that the knowledge sharing intention plays a full mediating role between the knowledge sharing behavior and the personal attitude variable, while it has a partial mediating role for the perceived behavioral control variable.
