FINANCIAL LITERACY OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY FOR ANADOLU UNIVERSITY, TURKEY

Abstract

The level of financial literacy is crucial for university students who represent the future as a dynamic segment of the society. Financial literacy is a vital ability, which can be obtained through educational programs in schools. To investigate the validity of this statement, a sample is selected from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences students, who are exposed to financial concepts and techniques more than any other university faculty students. The financial literacy of university students was measured through a scale, which was designed by adapting OECD financial literacy scale to the conditions of Turkey.
