Aim
The International Journal of Mardin Studies (IJMS) deals with all types of interdisciplinary issues on the occasion of its contribution to the city of Mardin with its social and human sciences (language, literature, history, folklore, sociology, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, archaeology, art history, etc.), It carries service to the academic field and society with scientific studies to be carried out on all issues related to society.

Scope
In accordance with the publication policy of the Mardin Studies Application and Research Centre, all kinds of interdisciplinary issues on the occasion of contributing to the city of Mardin with social and human sciences (language, literature, history, folklore, sociology, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, archaeology, art history, etc.), accepts studies with academic and scientific content prepared in English or Turkish.

IJMS, is an international peer-reviewed journal published in print and electronic (e–journal) at international standards and includes studies in Turkish and English.
IJMS, is published twice a year, in October and April.
IJMS, has determined its vision to contribute to scientific and social development and to be among the sought-after journals in its field by evaluating and publishing original and qualified studies.
IJMS, while trying to realize its vision, has adopted the principle of acting completely based on scientific research, in line with honesty, objectivity and transparency, science and business ethics.
IJMS, publishes the articles of all interested researchers, who do not have an organic connection with any institution or organization, and the scientific and legal responsibilities of the opinions in the published studies belong to the authors.

Writing Rules

WRITING RULES

Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere. Articles can be written in Turkish and English.

FORMAT

Font: Word document, Times New Roman, 12 point, single space.

Length: The maximum length for articles is 15 pages. Articles longer than 15 pages can only be considered exceptional. Notes should not exceed 7 pages and book reviews should not be longer than 5 pages.

Title page: The title and the name of the author should be written in bold and in Phrase letters on the title page. The title should not exceed ten words!

Keywords: Three to ten keywords should be listed on the front page of the article.

Abstract: All articles must have an abstract in English not exceeding 150 words.

Tables: All tables must be numbered and include a title.

Diagrams: Diagram titles should be numbered.

Illustrations: Photographs accompanying articles must be 300 dpi; line drawings 800-1200 dpi. All images must be in gif or jpeg format. Provide images in a folder using the same names referenced in the article and include the folder containing the original images in the article.

Abbreviations: All abbreviations should have a description in parentheses when they first appear.

REFERENCES

All references within the article must comply with the APA 6 format. All sources should be listed in their original language at the end of the article, on the last page. However, sources in languages other than Turkish, English and Russian, which do not use the Latin alphabet, should be given with an internationally accepted transliteration.

AUTHOR'S DUTIES

Reporting standards:

Authors of original research reports should provide an accurate description of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Basic data should be accurately represented in the article. An article should contain enough details and references to allow others to repeat the work. Fraudulent or knowingly false statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention:

Authors are requested to provide raw data in connection with an article for editorial review and be prepared to provide public access to such data, if available (in accordance with the ALPSP-STM Data and Databases Statement), and be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period of time after publication, if applicable. .

Authenticity and Plagiarism:

Authors should ensure that they are writing completely original works and that they are using other people's work and/or words that it is properly cited or cited. All manuscripts accepted for IJMS will be checked by authenticate for originality and will be rejected if found to be plagiarized.

Multi, Redundant or Simultaneous Broadcast:

An author should generally not publish papers describing the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same article to more than one journal at the same time constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.

Acceptance of Resources:

The work of others always needs to be properly approved. Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the work reported.

PUBLICATION RIGHTS

IJMS reserves the right to delete any article from previously published issues of the journal without prior notice if they are found to violate the publication principles and/or terms and conditions.

Articles published by the journal may not be reproduced in whole or in part without the express written permission of the publisher.

Authors can use illustrations, tables, etc., taken from other sources. Responsible for obtaining the necessary permission to reproduce.

The views of the authors of the articles in the journal are solely the views of the author and may not reflect the views of the journal, its editor, assistant editors or advisory board.

ARTICLE SELECTION AND PUBLICATION PROCESS

This journal aims at rapid publication of research results and maintaining a double-blind system for peer review; the identities of the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors.

The review process can take 2-3 weeks. In special cases, the review process takes longer, authors are notified by e-mail. Articles with significant results will be reviewed and published with the highest priority and speed. Please note that poorly prepared and unnecessarily long papers have a lower chance of being accepted.

EVALUATION

Articles evaluated for publication will be sent to anonymous referees for evaluation. In the evaluation process, the responsibility of the following articles rests with the editor and publication committee. Articles accepted for publication after the referees' evaluations are completed will be returned to the author for corrections if necessary. Manuscripts that are not accepted for publication cannot be returned.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

ETHİCAL PRİNCİPLES AND PUBLİCATİON POLİCY

I. PUBLISHING AND AUTHORIZATION

IJMS adheres to the highest standards and ensures that all documents undergo a rigorous review process from at least two international colleagues/experts in the field.

The publication takes into account the originality of the work, its importance, sound fundamental principles and relevance. Reviewers also consider readability and language.

Research studies reported in the article must not have been published or submitted to another publication. It should only be included in one publication.

The editors' decisions are: acceptance, acceptance by revision, or rejection.

Authors who agree to review and resubmit their manuscript should be aware that there is no guarantee that the revised version will be accepted.

Rejected articles are not reviewed.

Paper acceptance may be limited by legal requirements such as legal copyright infringement and plagiarism.

IJMS is an open-access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Except for commercial purposes, users are allowed to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AUTHORS

Authors guarantee that their articles are original works.

Authors should document that the article has not been previously published.

Authors must also confirm that the article has not been considered for publication elsewhere.

All authors listed in the article must have contributed significantly to its content.

Authors should state that all information and data in the article are true and genuine.

Authors must inform the Editors of any conflicts of interest.

Authors should provide appropriate references to identify all sources used in their work or reported in their article.

Authors should respond promptly and appropriately to the compiler.

Authors are responsible for retracting or correcting errors when necessary.

Authors should promptly report any errors found in their manuscripts to the Editors during compilation and after publication.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES OF ASSESSORS

All information about the papers should be kept confidential.

Authors should act objectively without personal criticism.

Reviewers should draw attention to relevant published studies not cited by the authors.

Reviewers should draw the Editors' attention between the manuscript under review and any other similarity they are aware of.

Reviewers should point out any conflicts of interest to the Editors.

Reviewers should express their views clearly and give reasons for doing so.

Reviewers should comment on the scientific content as well as the clarity of the article.

IV. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EDITORS

Editors have ultimate responsibility for the acceptance or rejection of any article.

Editors are responsible for the content and quality of the publication.

Editors must ensure the quality of the manuscript and the integrity of academic research.

Editors will base their decisions solely on the originality and importance of articles, including their relevance to the scope of publication.

Editors should not reverse their decision or reverse previous editors' decisions without specific reason, in which case further review may be required.

The editors will protect the confidentiality of the referees.

Editors will accept a manuscript when they are reasonably confident that it meets ethical and malpractice rules.

Editors will take immediate action if they suspect misconduct and try to make all reasonable efforts to resolve the matter.

Editors will ensure that published materials comply with internationally accepted ethical guidelines, including having a clear picture of research funding sources.

Editors should not cause a conflict of interest between authors, reviewers and other Board Members.

Price Policy

Processing and publication are free of charge with the journal. There is no article processing charges or submission fees for any submitted or accepted articles.
