SÖZ EDİMLERİ, KİP(LİK) VE ZARF: ORHAN KEMAL'İN “KÜÇÜCÜK”ÜNDE NİYET, TUTUM VE VARSAYIM

Abstract

Dil, onu kullanana dair önemli veriler barındırır. Konuşmak kişiler arası bir eylemdir ve konuşan kişi yaptığı tercihler ve uyguladığı stratejiler aracılığıyla niyetini, tutumunu, varsayımlarını, düşüncelerini ve duygularını istemli yahut istemsiz şekilde yansıtır. Dilin belirsizliğine, anlamın mahiyetine, söylenen ve kastedilen arasındaki ilişkiye, sözcelenen önermenin başarılı olmasına ve doğru anlaşılmasına dair görüşlerden bir tanesi Austin tarafından ortaya atılan ve Searle'ün geliştirerek sistemleştirdiği söz edimleri kuramıdır. Austin'in konuşmak bir eylemde bulunmaktır düşüncesini temel alan bu kuram çerçevesinde Searle, zihnin işleyişi ve sezdirim bağlamında sözcelenen önermelerin amaçlarına ve anlaşılmasına dair açıklamalar getirmiştir. Sözlerin içerisindeki edimsel yargıyı sezdirmenin pek çok yolu bulunur. Birçok dilde olduğu gibi Türkçede de edimsel fiillerin içerdiği niyet, tutum ve varsayımları yansıtmada kiplik ve zarflar önemli araçlardır. Bu makalenin amacı, dili kullanırken yapılan tercihlerin, gerçekleştirilen söz edimlerinin ve kullanılan kiplik işaretleyicilerinin taşıdığı verileri araştırmaktır. Bu bağlamda Orhan Kemal'in “Küçücük” adlı öyküsünden örnekler ele alınmıştır.

SPEECH ACTS, MODALITY AND ADVERB: INTENTION, ATTITUDE AND ASSUMPTION IN ORHAN KEMAL'S KÜÇÜCÜK

Abstract

The language contains fundamental data on its users. Speaking is an interpersonal action, and speakers reflect their intentions, attitudes, assumptions, thoughts and feelings voluntarily or involuntarily through the choices they make and the strategies they apply. One of the views on the ambiguity of language, the nature of the meaning, the relationship between said and meant, the felicitous and correct understanding of the statement mentioned in the speech acts theory put forward by Austin and systematized by Searle. Within the framework of this theory, which is based on Austin’s idea ofspeaking as an act, Searle provides explanations about the purposes and understanding of the statements mentioned in the context of the functioning of the mind, and conversational implicature. There are many ways to perceive the speakers' uptakes in their words. As in many languages, in Turkish modality and adverbs are important tools that reflect the attitudes, intentions, and assumptions contained in the performative verbs. This article scrutinizes the information conveyed through the linguistic choices made, the speech acts performed, and the modal markers used. In this context, examples from Orhan Kemal’s story Küçücük are examined.
