1970’te Erzurum Horasan’da dünyaya geldi. İlk, orta ve lise eğitimini Horasan’da tamamladı. Üniversiteyi İstanbul Üniversitesi, Edebiyat Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü’nde (1991), Yüksek lisansını Malatya İnönü Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı’nda (1994), doktorasını Atatürk Üniversitesi Kâzım Karabekir Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı’nda tamamladı (1998). 2000 yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi’nde Yrd. Doç. Dr., 2012’de Doçent, 2017’de profesör oldu. Bu tarihten beri Atatürk Üniversitesi’nde görevine devam etmektedir.
Turan, 1992-1993 arasında Şanlıurfa Lisesi’nde edebiyat öğretmeni, 1993’den 1996’ya kadar Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü’nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak çalıştı. 1996’da Atatürk Üniversitesi’ne intisap etti.
2014 yılında Bosna-Hersek Tuzla Kantonu Felsefe Fakültesi Türkoloji Bölümü’nde misafir öğretim üyesi olarak bir (1) yıl görev yaptı.
2016-2020 arasında Atatürk Üniversitesi Sürekli Eğitim Merkezi Müdürü
2018-2021 arasında Türkçe Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı Başkanlığını yürüttü.
2024’te Makedonya Üsküp Uluslararası Balkan Üniversitesi’nde misafir öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapıyor.
Turan, 30’un üzerinde makale neşretmiş, 30 bilimsel toplantı sunumu yapmış, 489 Ulusal ve Uluslararası Dergi ve Kitaplarda Atıf, 5 kitap (telif eser), 15 kitap bölümü, 20 ansiklopedi maddesi yazmış, 3 BAP projesi hazırlamış, çok sayıda yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrenci yetiştirmiştir.
I was born in 1965 in Gümüşhane. I am a graduate of Gazi University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature Teaching. I worked as a Turkish Teacher at Çanakçı-Karabörk Secondary School in Giresun and as a literatureTteacher at Ankara Anatolian High School. I completed my Master's and Doctorate degrees in the Department of Turkish Language Education and Teaching. I worked as a research assistant at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Science and Litterature, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU). In 2000, I was transferred from KTU to the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Science and Literature, Ordu University. Since 2006, I have been working as a faculty member at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Science and Litterature, Ordu University. My scientific articles on the vocabulary of Turkish, especially its color vocabulary, have been published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, along with various articles and papers. I have published books titled Tanıkları ile Türkçede Zaman Kavramı ve Söz Varlığı, Yazılı Anlatım ve Yaratıcılık and Tarihi Türk Lehçelerinde İsimden İsim Yapma Ekleri, Ordu Ağzı Söz Varlığı and Yunus Emre Divanı'nda Söz Varlığı İncelemeleri. I am married and have one daughter.
CURRICULUM VITAE
Prof. Dr. Vildan Coşkun was born in Istanbul. She graduated first in her class from Zeytinburnu Imam Hatip High School in 1987 and enrolled in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Boğaziçi University the same year, graduating with honors in 1992.
Between 1992 and 1993, she worked as an English teacher at the Ministry of National Education. In 1993, she won a scholarship for master’s and doctoral studies at the Center for Islamic Studies (ISAM), where she also served as a researcher. She completed her master’s degree at the Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute between 1992 and 1994. In 1994–1995, she studied academic English at the University of Pennsylvania (USA) and worked on translations from Ottoman Turkish to English.
She earned her PhD at Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute between 1994 and 2000, spending part of her doctoral research at Harvard University Houghton Library. During this period, she also worked part-time at the Middle East Section of Harvard Law School Library and at the Aga Khan Library Visual Collection.
In 2000, she became a researcher at ISAM and an author for the TDV Encyclopedia of Islam. Between 2002 and 2004, she pursued postdoctoral research on Ottoman Literature and Architecture at the Aga Khan Program, Harvard University. From 2004 to 2010, she continued her work as a researcher and TDV Encyclopedia author at ISAM. In 2010, she served as a part-time Turkish lecturer at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, contributing to the establishment of TÖMER and teaching courses. She became an associate professor in 2013, founded the Department of Turkish Language Teaching at the same university, and served as its chair for two years. She also taught courses in Children’s Literature. Between 2012 and 2015, she was a member of YADOT (Association for Teaching Turkish to Foreigners).
Since 2015, she has been a professor of Classical Turkish Literature at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Sakarya University. She also serves as Advisor to the Rector at Düzce University.
Her academic work includes four books, numerous articles (two in English), encyclopedia entries (some in English), and about ten translations (Turkish-English). She has participated in and led projects supported by TÜBİTAK, Sakarya University, and Boğaziçi University, and has conducted research and academic activities abroad through Erasmus and other programs. She has conducted academic work in the USA, France, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Jordan, and visited multiple cities in Turkey for academic purposes, including Ankara, Erzurum, Siirt, Batman, Tokat, Mardin, and Düzce.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haktan KAPLAN was born in Ankara in 1991. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara. In 2009, he was admitted to the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Letters, Selçuk University, and graduated from the same department in 2013. Following his graduation, he worked for one year as a Turkish Language and Literature teacher at Konya Dr. Ali Rıza Bahadır Anatolian Imam Hatip High School. In 2014, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (SÜ-TÖMER) at Selçuk University. During this period, he taught Turkish as a foreign language and served as the Education Coordinator of the center between 2017 and 2020. In 2016, Kaplan received his M.A. degree from the Institute of Social Sciences at Necmettin Erbakan University with his thesis entitled “Brotherhood and the Concept of Siblinghood in the Epics of the Turkic World,” supervised by Dr. Aziz Ayva. He completed his Ph.D. at the same university under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Selçuk Peker with his dissertation titled “Shrines and Sacred Visit Sites in the Folk Culture of Bolu and Düzce.” Since 2021, he served as a Lecturer (Dr.) at the Department of Turkish Language at Selçuk University. In March 2023, he applied to the Interuniversity Council and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Turkish Folk Literature on July 20, 2023. As of 2026, he has been appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Division of Turkish Folk Literature, Faculty of Letters, Selçuk University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaplan conducts research in Turkish folklore, Turkish folk literature, intangible cultural heritage, Alevi-Bektashi studies, belief and ritual studies, and cultural memory. He is the author of four scholarly books and two textbooks. In addition, he has published fourteen book chapters and nineteen articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, and has served as an editor for academic volumes. He has also presented twenty papers at national and international scientific conferences. He is married and the father of one child, and continues his academic work at Selçuk University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Türkân Yeşilyurt
She was born in Samsun on 16 May 1967. She completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Samsun. In 1988, she graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Ankara University. In 2005, she completed her master’s degree at the Center for Turkish Literature at Bilkent University with her thesis titled “Woman in the Female Poet: The Poems of Şükûfe Nihal.” She received her PhD from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Ankara University’s Faculty of Language, History and Geography in 2010 with her doctoral dissertation titled “Themes in the Poetry of Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca.”
Between 2011 and 2016, she worked as a faculty member in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Letters of Tunceli University. She is currently a faculty member in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Sinop University.
Her poetry books Yoksun (1993), Dün Kendimin Önünden Geçtim (2005), Küçük Bir Ah (2013), and Taşra Do (2016), along with her critical studies Dağlarca: “Öyle Aydınlık, Öyle Uzun, Öyle Yepyeni” (2013), Nâzım Hikmet ve Yergi: “Ayağa Kalkın Efendiler” (2014), Hilmi Yavuz’un Şiirlerinde Geleneğin Yeniden Üretimi: “Güldeki Gömü Neyse” (2014), and Halk Şiirinde Osmanlı Toprak Düzeninin İzleri (2015), were published in the Yasakmeyve series of Komşu Yayınları.
Her book Hanım (2017), which she modernized from Ottoman Turkish into the Latin alphabet based on a work by Ahmet Rasim, was published by Siyasal Kitabevi. Her books Romandan Bakan Düşkün Kadınlar (2018), Şiirde Flanörlük (2024), and Don Juan’ın Yüzleri (2026) were published by Efil Yayınevi. Meanwhile, her poetry book Fahri (2025) was published in the Kitap Saati series of Eflatun Basım Dağıtım Yayıncılık.
Since 1990, Yeşilyurt has contributed various poems, articles, and interviews to numerous journals, including Hürriyet-Gösteri, Karşı, Şiir Odası, Varlık, and Yasakmeyve.

She graduated from Afyon Kocatepe University, Uşak Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Turkish Language and Literature in 2006. In 2008, she graduated from Afyon Kocatepe University, Institute of Social Sciences with her thesis titled "The Functions of Prepositional Phrases in the Structure of Noun + Case Morpheme + Preposition in Turkish" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Boz. In 2009, she started working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ahi Evran University. She completed her doctorate at Erciyes University, Institute of Social Sciences between 2010 and 2016. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nevzat Özkan, she prepared her thesis titled "Gevrekzâde Hâfız Hasan Efendi’s Netîcetü’l-Fikriyye fî Tedbîri Velâdeti’l-Bikriyye: Analysis - Text - Index". She received the title of Associate Professor in 2022. She is still working at the same university. She is married and has one child.
