Dr. Aytac Ugur YERDEN graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Technical Education, Electrical Education and Bursa Technical University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Electrical-Electronics Engineering undergraduate programs. He completed his master's degree in Electrical Education at Marmara University, Institute of Science, and his PhD in Mechatronics Engineering at Marmara University, Institute of Science. He was awarded the title of Lecturer in 2014 and Asst. Prof. Dr. in 2020. He was at HAW-Hamburg University in Germany to complete his master's thesis in 2007-2008. Dr. Yerden worked as an exam and system coordinator at the Distance Education Application Research Center at Marmara University between 2012-2014, and served as a lecturer, program head and department head at the Department of Electrical and Energy at Istanbul Gedik University Vocational School between 2014-2020. In 2011, he took part in the Internet Entrepreneurship and E-Commerce Workshop "The Stars Of The East" and the European Union Project on Gaining Visibility with Computers. In 2022-2023, he worked as the project coordinator in the Sanal Ark project, which covers augmented reality, virtual reality, distance education and remote access laboratory systems from today's technologies supported by the 2021 Innovative Istanbul Financial Support Program of the Istanbul Development Agency, and ensured its successful completion. Dr. Yerden, who has advised numerous master's and doctoral theses in the fields of Electrical-Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics and Occupational Health and Safety, has many researches, projects and publications in the fields of renewable energy, robot vision, unmanned aerial vehicles, virtual reality, augmented reality, industry 5.0, metaverse and cyber security.
Dr. Mücahit Ege is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering and currently serves as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Istanbul Gedik University. He is also the Chair of the Software Engineering Department and the Coordinator of the university’s Scientific Research Projects Unit.
He received his B.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Education (English) from Marmara University, his M.Sc. in Mechatronics from Marmara University, and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Kocaeli University. His interdisciplinary academic background enables him to lead innovative research at the intersection of intelligent robotics, biomedical engineering, mechatronic systems, AI and embedded technologies.
Dr. Ege’s research primarily focuses on medical robotics applications, biomechanics, and mechatronic system design. He has made significant contributions to the development of technological solutions aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals with hearing impairments, including assistive systems that enhance communication abilities.
He has actively participated in national and international research projects, including TÜBİTAK-funded initiatives and TEKNOFEST technology competitions. Additionally, he serves as Field Editor of the International Journal of New Findings in Engineering, Science and Technology (IJONFEST). Dr. Ege is deeply committed to advancing research and innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration, with a strong focus on sustainability, digital transformation, and socially impactful engineering solutions.
Dr. Meltem Kasapoğlu Çalık completed her undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at Marmara University and obtained her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Gebze Technical University. Her academic research primarily focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and controlled release behavior of nanocomposite hydrogels. She has served as both principal investigator and researcher in national projects and also conducts studies on the use of innovative materials in environmentally friendly technologies and wastewater treatment.
Since 2018, Dr. Çalık has been serving as a faculty member at Istanbul Gedik University, Gedik Vocational School, and was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2019. As of 2024, she continues to serve as the Director of the Vocational School. In addition to her academic and administrative duties, she actively participates in various committees and plays a key role in quality assurance processes. She teaches courses such as Polymer Chemistry, General Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and Organic Chemistry.
Dr. Çalık maintains her scientific productivity with articles, conference papers, and book chapters published both nationally and internationally. She also holds training certificates for operating devices such as Gas Chromatography (GC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
