According to the Newspaper Haber, Infectious Diseases in the Fight against Opium during the Second World War
Abstract
One of the biggest problems caused by war is infectious diseases. During the Second World War, the Republic of Turkey had to struggle with contagious diseases along with adverse economic conditions. Vaccination and drug support were provided to the citizens by the Ministry of Health and Internal Affairs on the proliferation of infectious diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis and typhus. However, due to the economic difficulties experienced during the war, the lack of education of the people, the precautions taken and the inadequacy of medicines, the communicable diseases throughout the country could not be prevented completely.
