In this study, it is aimed to reveal the opinions and thoughts of social studies teachers and 7th grade students regarding the use of museum visits in social studies lessons. The sample of the study, which was designed according to the descriptive screening model, was composed of 1397 middle school 7th grade students and 85 social studies teachers in Manisa Metropolitan Şehzadeler and Yunusemre districts. As a data collection tool, graded information collection form was used to determine the opinions of teachers and students in museum education. According to the results of the research, social studies teachers and 7th grade students both agree on the fact that museum education increases the awareness of history and develops awareness of preserving historical artifacts. In addition, teachers and students stated that they did not encounter significant problems during the museum visits and they were willing to teach the lessons in museums. However, the cost, the high number of students, the planning difficulties, and the family's failure to allow out-of-school activities are among the problems encountered in museum education practice. According to the opinions of both teachers and students participating in the research, educational activities are not sufficiently included after the museum visit.
