ZİNCİR KAHVE RESTORANLARINDA IŞIK VE RENGİN SOSYAL MEKÂN DENEYİMİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract

Zincir kahve restoranları, ev ve iş dışındaki "üçüncü mekân" işleviyle günümüz kent yaşamında önemli sosyal buluşma alanları haline gelmiştir. Bu mekânlar, sadece birer tüketim noktası değil, aynı zamanda insanların sosyalleşebildiği, çalışabildiği ve kendini rahat hissedebildiği alanlar olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, mimari çevre kontrolü kapsamında aydınlatma (ışık) ve renk ögelerinin zincir kahve restoranlarındaki sosyal mekân deneyimine etkileri incelenmiştir. Kullanıcı davranışları ve psikolojisi üzerinde fiziksel çevrenin rolü, çevresel psikoloji kuramları ve hizmet pazarlaması literatür çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır.
Sonuç olarak, mekânsal atmosferin, kullanıcı memnuniyeti, sosyal etkileşim ve mekâna aidiyet gibi kritik faktörleri belirlediği görülmüştür. Mimari tasarımcılar için öneriler sunulmuş; doğal ışığın maksimize edilmesi, yapay ışığın insan odaklı olarak kurgulanması ve renk seçiminde kültürel ve psikolojik etkilerin dikkate alınması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. Bu çalışma, kullanıcı odaklı iç mekân tasarımı yaklaşımlarına katkı sunmayı hedeflemektedir.

THE EFFECT OF LIGHT AND COLOR ON SOCIAL SPACE EXPERIENCE IN CHAIN COFFEE SHOPS

Abstract

Chain coffee restaurants have become important social gathering spaces in contemporary urban life by serving as "third places" beyond home and work. These venues are not only consumption points, but also spaces where people can socialize, work, and feel comfortable. This study examines the effects of lighting and color elements—within the scope of architectural environmental control—on the social space experience in chain coffee restaurants. The role of the physical environment on user behavior and psychology is discussed within the framework of environmental psychology theories and service marketing literature.
As a result, it was observed that the spatial atmosphere determines critical factors such as user satisfaction, social interaction, and sense of belonging. Recommendations for architectural designers were provided, emphasizing the need to maximize natural light, design artificial lighting in a human-centered manner, and consider cultural and psychological effects in color selection. This study aims to contribute to user-centered interior design approaches.
