THE RELATİONSHİP BETWEEN ORGANİZATİONAL TRUST LEVELS AND DEMOGRAPHİC CHARACTERİSTİCS OF EMPLOYEES: A CASE STUDY
Abstract
The purpose of this
research is to determine the organizational trust level of employees and the
relationship between their demographic characteristics and organizational trust
levels. This research on the employees of an industrial company operating in Kayseri
was carried out over 385 people. The organizational trust scale developed by
Nyhan and Marlow (1997) was used to measure trust in the knitting. Reliability
and validity studies of the scale in the Turkish culture were carried out by
Demircan (2003). In order to answer the research questions explanatory and
confirmatory factor analysis, T test, variance analysis and post hoc tests were
applied to the data along with complementary statistical tests. According to
the factor analysis results, organizational trust is divided to two sub
dimensions as administer trust and organizational trust. According to the
results of the research; it was found that the organizational trust levels of
employees showed a significant difference according to their education level
and age; did not show any significant difference according to gender and
experience.
