Nabokov’un Rusça öykülerinde ölüm olgusu

Abstract

V.V. Nabokov (1899-1977) tüm dünyanın yakından tanıdığı Rus asıllı göçmen bir yazardır. Nabokov Rusya’daki Bolşevik rejiminden sonra genç yaşta anavatanını terk etmek zorunda kalır ve bir daha Rusya’ya geri dönmez. Hayatını Avrupa’nın değişik şehirlerinde ve Amerika’da devam ettiren ünlü yazar ilk eserleri olan öykülerinde ölüm olgusu üzerinde özellikle durur. Sanatçının bu eserlerinde resmettiği kahramanlar çoğunlukla göçmenler, evlerinden ayrılmış ve ezilmiş insanlar, gerçekle hayal dünyası arasına sıkışmış karakterlerdir. Böyle acınası kaderleri olan kahramanların tek çıkış yolu ise ölümdür. Nabokov için ölüm bir yok oluş değil, bilinmeyen yeni bir hayata başlangıçtır. Sanatçı bu eserlerinde ölümün amacına ve uhrevi boyutuna değinmekten kaçınır. Bu bildirimizde Nabokov’un 1924 ve 1925 yıllarında kaleme aldığı Rusça öykülerinde ölüm olgusunun yerine değindik.

The concept of death in Nabokov’s Russian stories

Abstract

V.V. Nabokov (1899-1977) is a Russian-born immigrant writer, familiar to all the world. After the Bolshevik regime in Russia, Nabokov is forced to leave his homeland at a young age and he never returns to Russia. His life continues in various cities in Europe and America. The famous writer focuses specifically on the death concept in early stories. Nabokov’s heroes depicted in these works, mostly immigrants, oppressed characters separated from their homes and are stuck between reality and dream world. The death is only way out for these pitiful destined heroes. For Nabokov the death is not an extinction, on the contrary, is a beginning to an unknown life. The writer does not address the purpose of the death and otherworldly dimension in these stories. In this paper, we analysed the concept of death in Nabokov’s Russian stories written 1924 and 1925.
