Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to develop a scale to examine mothers’ sharenting behaviors. In the process of the scale development, first, the literature review was carried out and in the light of those necessary regulations, a pilot study was carried out with 125 participants with a form including 22 items. After the pilot application, a form with 17 items was created. Then the exploratory factor analysis performed on 342 participants and 17-item structure was able to explain 71.2% of the 4-factor variance. These 4 factors are named as “Sharing Behavior”, “Social Comparison Behavior”, “Positive Feedback Effect”, and “Negative Feedback Effect”. A confirmatory factor analysis on the final version of the scale was carried out and the model was validated. The Cronbach’s Alfa value for internal consistency was checked and The Sharenting Scale was found to have sufficient levels of reliability and validity.
