Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Hemşirelik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutumları ve Bakım Davranışları Arasındaki İlişkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik tutumları ile bakım davranışları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu tanımlayıcı ve ilişki-arayıcı çalışma, 1228 hemşirelik öğrencisinden oluşan bir popülasyonla gerçekleştirilmiş olup, bu popülasyondan 326 öğrenci örneklem olarak seçildi. Veriler, Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Hemşirelik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (HMYTÖ) ve Bakım Davranışları Ölçeği (BDÖ) kullanılarak toplandı. Verilerin analizi frekans, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma ve bağımsız örneklem t-testi ile yapıldı. Ölçek puanları arasındaki ilişki Pearson korelasyon analizi ile değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Katılımcıların HMYTÖ ortalama puanı 172.05 ± 16.02, BDÖ ortalama puanı ise 4.62 ± 0.51 olarak bulundu. HMYTÖ ve BDÖ toplam puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif bir ilişki saptandı (r=0.514, p<0.001). Sonuç: Hemşirelik öğrencileri hem mesleğe yönelik olumlu tutum hem de yüksek düzeyde bakım davranışları sergiledi. Bu iki değişken arasında anlamlı ve pozitif bir ilişki bulundu. Bu durum, hemşirelik mesleğine daha olumlu tutum geliştiren öğrencilerin, bakım davranışlarını da daha olumlu algılayıp sergileme eğiliminde olduğunu göstermektedir.

The Relationship Between Nursing Students' Attitudes Towards Nursing Profession and Care Behaviors

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the relationship between nursing students' attitudes toward the nursing profession and their caring behaviors. Material and Methods: This descriptive and correlational study was conducted with a population of nursing students (N = 1228), from which a sample of 326 students was selected. Data were collected using the Descriptive Information Form, Attitude Scale for Nursing Profession (ASNP) and Caring Behaviors Inventory (CBI). Data analysis was performed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and independent samples t-test. The relationship between scale scores was assessed using Pearson correlation analysis. Results: The participants’ mean score on the ASNP was 172.05 ± 16.02, and their mean score on the CBI was 4.62 ± 0.51. A statistically significant and positive correlation was found between the total scores of the ASNP and CBI (r = 0.514, p < 0.001). Conclusion: Nursing students demonstrated high levels of positive attitudes toward the nursing profession and high levels of caring behaviors. A significant positive relationship was found between these two variables. It can be concluded that students with more positive attitudes toward the nursing profession tend to perceive and exhibit more positive caring behaviors.
