Abstract

Investigation of the Effects of the Spine Manipulative Treatment on Pain in Migraine Based Headache: Case Report

Abstract (≤250 WORDS)

Migraine has been reported to involve in nociceptive responses from upper cervical spine and upper limb muscle, leading to hyperactive state of the trigeminal pathway. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the spine manipulative treatment on pain in migraine headache on a case. The spinal manipulation treatment was applied 2 days/week for 6 weeks. Pain was assessed with visual analogue scale, cervical range of motion was assessed with goniometer, and suboccipitale muscle tenderness was assessed with pain level to palpation. After the treatment, cervical range of motion and suboccipitale muscle tenderness were found to be normal. The pain did not appear two months after the treatment.
