COVID-19 Salgınında Kronik Hastalıklarda Hemşirelik Yönetimi

Year 2020, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 147 - 151, 30.06.2020

Abstract

Abstract

Chronic diseases seem to have various effects on the immune system and make a person more susceptible to COVID-19 infection. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people with chronic diseases should be closely monitored. There is no complete cure method for COVID-19 new viral infection. Various antiviral drugs are used in the treatment. The risk factors of COVID-19 infection are not yet not exactly known. However, people with chronic diseases (such as serious heart conditions, chronic lung disease, diabetes, chronic kidney diseases, and liver disease) are at higher risk for COVID-19 infection. Patients with chronic diseases should continue taking their care and medications according to their treatment plan. During COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that nurses have to educate the patients with chronic diseases be aware of any changes in the clinical symptoms of their chronic diseases and on protective measures (such as hand washing, stay at home, social distance).
