Abstract
The aim of the study is to reveal the importance of big data formed as a result of digitization of personal health data. In this direction, a literature review was conducted on personal health data, electronic health records and big data concepts. In addition, the relationship between big data and personal health data is discussed., In the literature review, as a result of the development of information and communication technologies, it was determined that changes and electronic health records have been created in the stages of processing, storing and transferring personal health data. It was determined that large data storage areas are used instead of physical archives for the storage of electronic health records. Thus, thanks to the big data developed; It has been determined that it contributes to health services in many areas such as clinical decision making, quality service delivery. In this study, it was concluded that the relationship between personal health data and big data improves health services and reduces human-induced errors. On the other hand, in the development of the big data concept; cyber attacks, malicious software companies or individuals as users have been evaluated to pose significant challenges, such as negative attitudes and behaviours towards possible insecurity anxiety towards health information systems.
