Since 2020, TR Index Journal Evaluation criteria have been updated, and the articles related to the ethics committee approval, which should be especially in scientific research, have been detailed. Studies requiring Ethics Committee Permission are listed below.

When uploading your work to our journal, you must upload your Ethics Committee Document along with your article file. If your study is not included in the study group that requires ethics committee approval, you must sign the declaration form (Alternative link) indicating this situation and indicate the relevant situation in your article text.


Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Permission

- All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using questionnaires, interviews, focus group work, observation, experimentation, interview techniques,
- Use of humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
- Clinical studies on humans,
- Research on animals,
- Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on protection of personal data.



Important Information About Ethics Committee Permission

- Stating that "Informed Consent Form" is received in case reports,
- Obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others
- Compliance with copyright regulations for the intellectual and artistic works used to indicate,
- Research data before 2020 were used, produced from master's / doctoral studies (should be stated in the article), in the previous year's publication application to the journal
- Retrospective ethics committee approval is not required for articles that have been found, accepted but not yet published.
- Researchers who are not members of the university can also apply to the Ethics Committees in their regions.
- Whether the permission of the ethics committee and / or legal / special permission is required for the articles to be published in the journals should be stated in the article. - If it is necessary, it should be clearly presented from which institution, on what date and with which decision or issue number the permit was obtained.
- If the study requires the use of human and animal subjects, the study should be included in an international declaration, guide, etc. must be declared to be carried out properly.

In studies requiring ethics committee approval, information about the permission (name of the board, date and number) should be given in the method section and should also be included on the first / last page of the article.

QUESTION-1: Is ethics committee permission required for all articles?

No. In the criteria, they are specified as articles that require “Ethics Committee Permission”. Researches requiring Ethics Committee permission are as follows:

Retrospective ethics committee approval is not required for articles that have used research data before 2020, that have been produced from master's / doctoral studies (should be specified in the article), that have been published in the journal in the previous year, accepted but not yet published.
