Insurance is a system that aims to compensate for the loss as a result of exposure of persons or property to various types of potential risks. From the point of view of Islamic law, the traditional insurance system contains aspects such as usurious interest and Gharar; Which causes some concern. As a result, the Takaful system emerged as an alternative Islamic insurance model, and that emergence coincided with the growth of the Islamic financial system. Mutual insurance (Takaful) is a type of mutual insurance that is carried out through cooperation between the participants and is described as agreements of persons exposed to certain risks to compensate for losses that are likely when these risks are realized (AAOIFI). This study aims to enumerate, classify and evaluate studies related to Islamic insurance or Takaful, which were produced exclusively in Turkey. For this purpose, the available literature on this subject has been identified, categorized, and analyzed in a basic way, especially those related to Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic law. In this study, some studies in the field of Islamic economics and finance were examined, which dealt in one way or another with the idea of Islamic insurance. Two criteria were adopted in this classification and evaluation, namely, the chronology, and the type of study. All studies related to Islamic insurance have been highlighted in this study, such as books, scientific theses, articles and research papers, and recommendations issued by conferences, scientific meetings, seminars, and workshops. This study concluded by providing some recommendations that will direct future research in this area. This study also included numerical data and a list of studies conducted in the fields of Islamic insurance or related fields. This study is considered important because it is a unique bibliographic article in the field of Islamic insurance literature in Turkey. Where the first initiatives were monitored until this moment, and there were no similar studies. This study will be the first step towards broader and more comprehensive studies in the field of Islamic insurance literature surveys.
