Abstract

The purpose of the environm ent education is to educate individuals en en friendly persons w ho are sensitive to their environmen ents and w ho have positive attitudes and behaviors tow ards environm ental issues. D ue to its being com pulsory and m ain education in our country, the elem, entary education, conveys great im portance in term of teaching environm ental issues. Instead of informing the audience about the envi- ronmental issues in elem entary education, the students should be encouraged to gain necessary upbringing and attitudes about the environm ental issues. Hence, it w ould be very beneficial to determine ine the factors w hich affect the attitudes of the students on the environm ental issues. R egarding this fact, the present study intended to exam ine and figure out the elem entary students' attitudes tow ards the environm ental issues. The data environm ent a ttitude Q uestionnaire for Elem entary School students "w hich w as developed by the researcher. The collected data by m eans of SPSS softw are program. The independent variables of the research are success levels, Educational backgrounds of the fathers and m others, and economical conditions of the parents; w hereas, the attitudes of the elem are as follows. the results reveled that the gender and the students' academ ic success levels prove significant difference on the attitudes of the students, w hereas, the educational backgrounds and economical conditions of the parents do not have any significant effect on the attitudes of the students tow ards environm ental issues.

İlköğretim Öğrencilerinin Çevreye Yönelik Tutumları

Abstract

Çevre eğitimiyle çevreye duyarlı, çevre koruma konusunda olumlu tutum ve davranışlara sahip bireyler yetiştirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ülkemizde temel ve zorunlu olabilme bakımından ilköğretim, çevre eğitiminde büyük önem taşımaktadır. Ilköğretimde uygulanan çevre eğitiminde, öğrencilere bilgiöten öte tutum ve davranış değiştirme boyutuuna öncelik vermesi gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle, öğrencilerin tutumları ve tutamlarını Etmenler bilin. Yapılan araştırma, ilköğretim öğrencilerinin çevreye yönelik tutumlarını belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma verileri, araştırmacılardan geliştirilen "İlköğretim Öğrencileri SPSS paket programından yararlandı. Araştırmada öğrencilerin tutumları, cinsiyet, akademik başarı düzeyi, baba ve annenin eğitim düzeyi ve ailenin gelir düzeyi gibi bölüm değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin çevreye yönelik olarak tutumlarının cinsiyet ve akademik başarı düzeyine göre farklılaştığı görülürken, baba ve annenin eğitim düzeyi ve ailenin gelir seviyine göre farklılaşmadığı saptanmıştır.
