Peer-review Process

Submissions to Tokat Journal of Ilmiyat should be original articles evaluating previous studies in the field and should produce new and worthwhile ideas and perspectives.

Tokat Journal of Ilmiyat uses double-blind review fulfilled by at least two reviewers. Referee names are kept strictly confidential. (Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers.)

Articles submitted to Tokat Journal of Ilmiyat are first reviewed by the Editorial Board in terms of the journal's publishing principles. Submissions found suitable are referred to two referees working in relevant fields. The names of the referees are kept confidential and referee reports are archived for five years. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the article may be forwarded to a third referee for further assessment or alternatively, the Editorial Board may make a final decision based on the nature of the three reports.

The authors are responsible for revising their articles in line with the criticism and suggestions made by the referees and the Editorial Board. If they disagree with any issues, they may make an objection by providing clearly-stated reasons. Submissions which are not accepted for publication are not returned to their authors. Articles sent for publication are checked for plagiarism through a special program (iThenticate - Plagiarism Prevention Program) used for plagiarism detection. Through this program, it is confirmed that the articles have not been published before and do not contain plagiarism.

The program has comprehensive academic content directly related to the evaluation of academic publications. Every document uploaded to iThenticate is compared to documents in a large database. In this database, there are more than 90,000 important newspapers, magazines, periodicals and books, as well as more than 17 billion web pages and archives. iThenticate checks databases with over 30 million content from more than 70,000 scientific journals and over 86 million articles from more than 150 publishers. Publisher partners include major publishing houses such as CrossRef, Gale, Emerald, ABC-CLIO, SAGE Reference, Oxford University Press, IEEE, Elsevier, Nature Publishing, Ovid, Taylor & Francis, PubMed, Pearson, McGrawHill, Wiley and EBSCO host.

Authors who submit an article to tokat journal of ilmiyat are deemed to have declared that they have not committed an ethical violation. The authors of the plagiarism through the iThenticate program are not included in our journals. The report is sent to the author.

The publication process of the accepted work lasts 2-4 months from the date of receipt.

Tokat Journal of Ilmiyat does not charge any article submission, processing charges, and printing charge from the authors.
