Fabrika ve Üretim Sorunlarından Bilimsel Yönetim Derneklerine: Bilimse Yönetim Hareketinin Meşruiyet Kazanması

Year 2019, Issue: 87, 159 - 177, 23.12.2019

Abstract

Abstract

This
research aims to shed light on legitimization phases of scientific management
movement, which was stemmed from problems of namely American railway and heavy
manufacturing industries. I
n
the last quarter of the 19th century, emphasizing management
problems in bulletins of American railways and bulletins of manufacturing
industries were pointed out essentialness establish platform for arguing management
problems. Within a decade, ASME transformed into main platform of management
movement, and soon after Taylor Society named after pioneer of Scientific
Management Movement. From early part of nineteenth century to date that its
merge under the name of Society for Advancement of Management, the Society
published dozens of bulletins, under the name Bulletin of Taylor Society, became
platform for management movement, and hosted national and international
management congress, especially in America and some part of the world.  Hence, in this research, I revisit the
certain and important phases of the movement, the legitimization phases of the
scientific management movement, through bring into view support of societies,
