MODELING OF A SCALED-DOWN SEA VESSEL’S GYROSTABILIZER FOR INITIAL STABILIZATION TESTS

Abstract

Gyrostabilizers are employed for the stabilization of the roll motion of sea vessels. A test system for validating the working scheme of the gyrostabilizer and improving its control algorithms is developed. This paper presents a mathematical model of this test system for the vessel and its gyrostabilizer system. This dynamic model is later evaluated against the simulation model developed via MATLAB Multibody blocks. The results validate the developed mathematical model, which can be used for controller development in future studies.
