Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review (IMUFLR) ISSN 2148-6883 ve e-ISSN 2687-6663) aims to contribute to the legal literature by publishing academic studies in the form of interdisciplinary articles, decision review and legislation review related to law.

Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review (IMUFLR) scanned by TR Index (ULAKBIM), SOBIAD, and Index Copernicus International indexes, HeinOnline, ICI World of Journals, and EBSCO databases is a biannual (June, December), peer-reviewed and open-access review. The review accepts academic articles, case reviews, and legislative reviews in Turkish, English, German and French in law and other academic disciplines related to law.

A. Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review (IMUFLR) is published biannually (June, December) and scanned by TR Index (ULAKBIM), SOBIAD and Index Copernicus International indexes, as well as HeinOnline, ICI World of Journals, and EBSCO databases. The evaluation of the studies is carried out in according to two blind peer-review process.
B. The review accepts and publishes academic studies in the form of articles, decision reviews, and legislative reviews written in Turkish, English, French, and German.
C. The studies submitted to the review should not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication. By sending a work, the author is deemed to have committed this issue. The work can be sent via DergiPark (https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/imuhfd) or to the address "hukukfakultesidergisi@medipol.edu.tr" in Word format (.doc, .docx). In all studies submitted to the journal for evaluation, authors must obtain an ORCID number (Scientific Researcher Identification Number) and indicate their ORCID number in their studies.
D. The opinions put forward in the article published in the review belong to the author. Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law and the Editorial Board do not assume any responsibility in this regard.

All academic studies to be submitted for publication in the journal should be prepared according to the form requirement given below.
  1. Submitted studies should be prepared in Times New Roman character, the main text should be 1.5 line spacing, 12 pt. justified, footnotes should be 10 pt. single line spacing and justified. Footnotes should be shown at the bottom of the page.
  2. The titles of the submitted studies should be written in Turkish and English. If the article is written in another language, the title in the language in which the article is written should also be added. Headings are prepared in 12-font size, single line spacing, and justified.
  3. Title numbering should follow the systematics of "I. - A. - 1. - a.". In the Introduction and Result/Evaluation sections numbering should not be done. In addition, there should not be any indent at the beginning of the paragraph, including in-article headings.
  4. The name of the author and surname should be justified under the title in capital letters. The title of the author, duty, ORCID number, and contact information should be written in the footnote by putting a "*" at the end of the last name.
  5. Under the author's information, Turkish abstract should be written. "Abstract" (in English) should be placed after the Abstract (in Turkish) section. If the language of the article is French or German, “Résumé” (French abstract) or “Zusammenfassung” (German abstract) should be written after the Abstract (in English) section. These parts should be between 150-200 words and summarize the article. At the end of the abstract part, there should be a "Keywords" part. “Keywords” should be written at the end of the Abstract (in English) section. If an abstract is written in French or German, "Mots-clés" or "Schlüsselwörter" (keywords) should be added at the end. Articles should include at least 5 different keywords.
  6. An abbreviation used in the article should be written in its long-form in the first use, and the abbreviation should be specified just after in parentheses. An independent scale of abbreviations should not be added to the end of the article.
  7. For references and annotations, footnotes should be written with a single line spacing in 10-font size, and in the text, a small number (1,2,3…) should be placed above the line in the relevant place. Footnotes are shown at the bottom of the page.
  8. Throughout the article, surnames' only first letter should be capitalized. If the author has more than one surname, "-" must be put between the surnames.
  9. For reference to books in the footnotes, the procedure of " [name of the author, name of the book, volume number (if any), the edition of the work, the name of the publisher, the place of publication (if any), the publication year, page number] " should be followed. e.g.: Mehmet Akif Aydın, Türk Hukuk Tarihi, 16. Bası, Beta Yayıncılık, İstanbul, 2019, s. 45.
  10. For reference to book chapters in footnotes, the procedure of [name of the author, “chapter name”, Ed. name of the editor, name of the book, volume number (if any), which edition of the work, name of the publisher, place of publication (if any), publication year, page number] should be followed. e.g.: Andrea Atteriano, Maria Beatrice Deli, “An Overview of International Sanctions’ Impact on Treaties and Contracts”, Ed. Natalino Ronzitti, Coercive Diplomacy, Sanctions and International Law, Brill | Nijhoff, Leiden, 2016, s. 210.
  11. For citing articles in footnotes, the procedure of [name of the author, "article name", journal name, volume number, issue number, publication year, page number] should be followed. e.g.: Cevdet Yavuz, “Arsa Payı Karşılığı İnşaat Sözleşmesinde Yasal Önalım Hakkının Kullanılması Sorununa Dair Görüşler”, İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Dergisi, Cilt 4, Sayı 2, 2017, s. 110.
  12.   13. For reference to encyclopedia articles in footnotes, the procedure of [name of the author, "article title", encyclopedia name, (if any) volume number] should be followed. e.g.: F.V. Garcia-Amador, “Organization of American States”, Encyclopedia of Public International Law, Cilt 6, Elsevier Science Publishers B.V., Amsterdam, 1983, s. 277.
  14. For reference to dissertations in the footnotes, the procedure of [name of the author, name of the thesis, nature of the thesis, university institute, and department information, year, page number] should be followed. e.g.: Halit Eyüp Özdemir, Kamu İhale Kanununda Düzenlenen İhale İşlemleri, Yayımlanmamış Doktora Tezi, Marmara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü̈ Kamu Hukuku Anabilim Dalı, 2005, s. 73.
  15. In translated works, the name of the translator is written in parentheses (as Translator's name and surname) right after the name of the author. e.g.: Klaus Tiedemann (Terc. Ayşe Nuhoğlu), Ekonomi Ceza Hukuku, Seçkin Yayıncılık, Ankara 2017, s. 89.
  16. For reference to the same work, the procedure of [Author's surname, page number] should be followed. e.g.: Aydın, s. 95.
  17. If more than one work of the same author is to be used, the abbreviation of the relevant work should be indicated in parentheses at the end of the first reference to this work, and the procedure of [author's surname, abbreviation of the work, page number] should be followed in repeating citations. e.g.: Cevdet Yavuz, “Arsa Payı Karşılığı İnşaat Sözleşmesinde Yasal Önalım Hakkının Kullanılması Sorununa Dair Görüşler”, İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Dergisi,Cilt 4, Sayı 2, 2017, s. 110, (Görüşler). e.g.-2: Yavuz, Görüşler, s. 110.
  18. In case of reference to the first editions of the works, edition information is not to be specified. e.g.: Ergun Özbudun, 1924 Anayasası, İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Yayınları, İstanbul, 2012, s. 50.
  19. For works with more than one author, "," should be used between the names of the authors.
  20. In case of citing more than one source in a footnote, ";" should be used between the sources.
  21. The bibliography should be at the end of the article. This part; should be titled "Kaynakça" in Turkish articles, "Bibliography" in English articles, "Bibliographie" in French articles, and "Literatur" in German articles. Sources used should be listed according to last names.
  22. In terms of the works in the bibliography, first the surname of the author and then the name should be written. A comma must be put between the last name and the name. In terms of works with more than one author, ";" should be used between the authors’ names. In other matters, the rules specified for the footnotes are also valid for the bibliography.

Ethical Principles

Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review - IMUFLR is a peer-reviewed journal published by the ethical principles and rules stated below to publish legal and interdisciplinary scientific works related to law. IMUFLR adheres to the highest standards in publishing processes and is scanned in TÜBİTAK TR Index (ULAKBİM), SOBİAD, and Index Copernicus International directories and HeinOnline, ICI World of Journals, and EBSCO databases.
All submissions should be original, not have been published in another journal, and should not be in the evaluation process in another journal. Each work is evaluated by one of the editors and at least two blind peer-reviewers. Situations such as plagiarism, duplication, fraudulent authorship / denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, slicing publishing, copyright infringement, and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors.



Authors who submit a work to the Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review must comply with the stated ethical responsibilities;
· Articles submitted to the journal must be original legal or interdisciplinary studies related to law. The author should not send any work or works published elsewhere or submitted for publication to the Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review.
· The authors are liable for the compliance of the works with scientific and ethical rules. By sending his work to the journal; It is deemed to have committed that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, in any other language.
· Contributing authors and sources should be used appropriately and cited in references. All individuals who do not meet the sufficient criteria for authorship but contributed to the study should be listed in the “acknowledgments/information” section. Examples of these are people who only provide technical support, assist with writing, provide only general support, or provide financial and material support.
· Changing author responsibilities (such as adding authors, changing the order of authors, removing authors) for a study whose evaluation process has started should not be offered.
· All authors should have a direct academic and scientific contribution to the submitted works. Name order of the authors should be a joint decision.
· The author should correctly cite the sources they use during the writing of the work in line with ethical principles.
· IMUFLR may request information or raw data from the authors within the framework of the evaluation processes, in such a case, the author should be ready to present the data and information requested from him/her.
· When the author realizes an error about the work in the evaluation and early viewing stage or the work published in electronic form, he/she should contact the editorial board to inform, correct, or withdraw.



Editorial Board of Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review undertakes to comply with the following ethical values;
· The Editorial Board is obliged to make an effort to increase the quality of the journal and to contribute to its development.
· Editorial Board needs to support authors' freedom of expression.
· The Editorial Board should take measures to prevent scientific and unethical behaviors such as plagiarism and citation fraud.
The Editorial Board has the final say in the publication of an academic study submitted to the journal. In determining the studies to be published, the quality, up-to-dateness, originality, and contribution to the field should be taken into consideration.
· The Editorial Board is responsible for the proper execution of the publication process of all works submitted for publication in the journal. In this context, the Editorial Board should decide independently and by taking public interest into account.
· The Editorial Board guarantees that all information regarding the submitted works will remain confidential until the work is published.
· The Editorial Board is obliged to protect the intellectual property rights of all published works and to defend the rights of the journal and authors in possible violations. The Editorial Board is obliged to take the necessary measures to ensure that all published works do not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications and to perform an authenticity check within this scope.
· While making any decision regarding the works, the Editorial Board should take into account the original value of the works, their contribution to the field, the validity and reliability of the research method, the clarity of the expression, and the purpose and scope of the journal. The Editorial Board cannot take into account the race, ethnic origin, gender, thoughts, and beliefs of the authors for any reason.
· Editorial Board should evaluate the articles submitted for publication in the review in terms of grammatical rules.
· Editorial Board should provide descriptive and informative notification and feedback to the authors.
· The Editorial Board ensures that journal policies such as publication, blind peer-review, evaluation process, ethical principles are determined and implemented.
· The Editorial Board should ensure that the peer-review process is carried out with two blind peer-reviewers and should not disclose the peer-reviewers to the authors and the authors to the peer-reviewers.
· The Editorial Board should ask the peer-reviewers to evaluate the works that are suitable for their knowledge and expertise. Thus, it should be ensured that the articles are appropriately evaluated by experts in their field of study. Care should be taken to keep the identity of the referees anonymous during this process.



Peer-reviewers of Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review undertake to abide by the ethical values stated below;
· Peer-reviewers should only agree to evaluate works related to their field of expertise. If a peer-reviewer does not feel qualified about the subject of the work or if it does not seem possible to provide timely feedback, he should inform the Editorial Board of this situation as soon as possible.
The peer-reviewers contribute to the decisions to be taken by the Board with their opinions regarding the academic studies submitted for their evaluation and, if deemed necessary, communicate with the author through the Board for the development of the study. In this process, it is essential to keep the peer-reviewers identities confidential.
· Peer-reviewers are obliged to evaluate the works in impartiality and confidentiality. Within this framework, they cannot share or use the information in the work with others before they are published, without the express consent of the author.
· The peer-reviewers should inform the Editorial Board as soon as possible if they notice any copyright infringement or plagiarism regarding the work submitted for evaluation, or if they notice any similarity with any previously published work or information.
· At the end of the evaluation process, the referees should submit their opinions by scientific criteria via the "Peer-review Form". When the "Peer-review Form" that does not comply with these conditions is detected, the editorial board can contact the peer-reviewer for review and correction.
· Peer-reviewers are required to complete their evaluations within the time allotted to them.

Publication Policy

Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review is published by Istanbul Medipol University. The publisher provides open, electronic, and free access to the journal on the web page of the journal. However, it protects the property and copyright of every article published in the journal and undertakes the obligation to keep the records of every published copy.
All content of the Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review is presented free of charge in an environment that everyone can read and download following the open access policy.
All manuscripts submitted to the Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law Review are evaluated through a double-blind review process. In this context, reviewers and evaluations are made only on the manuscript, regardless of the personal characteristics of the author such as identity, nationality, religious belief, and political opinion.
All expenses of the journal are covered by Istanbul Medipol University. IMUFLR; does not charge for submission, processing, publishing, or any other process.
The opinions expressed in the manuscripts published in the journal belong to the author. Istanbul Medipol University and IMUFLR do not accept any responsibility in this regard.
Regarding the Manuscripts Evaluation Process;
After the manuscripts are submitted to the journal, the manuscript evaluation process takes place in the form of a preliminary examination, reviewer evaluation, and, if necessary, a correction phase.
It may be possible before the manuscript is published for the authors to withdraw from the publication of a manuscript that has been submitted to the journal and has been peer-reviewed.
