This study is a study conducted to determine the relationship between the levels of loneliness perceived by elderly individuals and depression. The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 519 aged individuals aged 65 and above who applied to four family health centers randomly selected using cluster sampling methods between October 2019 - January 2020. Personal Information Form, Loneliness Scale for Elderly and Geriatric Depression-15 Scales were used in collecting data. In the analysis of the data, percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, Skewness and Kurtosis (±1) distribution test, t test for statistical calculations, Anova and correlation tests were performed. Included in the study. It has been determined that 77.1% of the elderly individuals are between the ages of 65-74, 56.5% are women, 81.5% are married, 56.5% are not literate, and 45.1% are living only with their spouse. The average score of the Loneliness Scale for the elderly was 10.84 ± 5.58 and the Geriatric Depression Scale score was 7.08 ± 4.12. In the study, it was determined that there was a positive relationship between depression and loneliness. In the research, there is a positive relationship between depression and loneliness.
