Yabancı Dil Öğretiminde Yöntem ve Sonrası: 2020’den Sonra

Abstract

Yabancı dil öğretiminde yöntem kavramı ve en iyi yöntem bulma ile ilgili tartışmalar uzun yıllar devam etmiş, yakın geçmişte yöntem sonrası dönem olarak adlandırılan bir bakış açısıyla bu tartışmalar ivme kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, yöntem ve yöntem sonrası dönem arasındaki diyalektik ilişkiyi sunarak yönteme alternatif olarak ortaya atılan yöntem sonrası döneme yönelik eleştirilerden de bahsederek, değişen ve gelişen dünya ve küresel salgın neticesinde yabancı dil öğretiminin gelecekte nasıl şekilleneceği hususunda ipuçları vermektir. Bu kapsamda söz konusu bu iki dönemin özellikleri ve aralarındaki etkileşim incelecektir. Bu çalışmada özellikle Covid 19 küresel salgını neticesinde bir zaruriyet olarak ortaya çıkan uzaktan eğitim modelinin yabancı dil öğretimindeki yansımalarına yer verilerek, “yeni normal” adı verilen dönemdeki yansımaları hakkında öngörülerde bulunulacaktır. Bu öngörülerin, pandemi sonrası dönemde de yabancı dil öğretiminde yer bulacağı sonucuna varmak mümkündür.
