Nanotechnology in Forest Industry

Abstract

Today, Nanotechnologies are opening up new scopes in almost all scientific and technological fields and this technology is having a profound impact on the forest industry. In the forest industry it is sought ways to improve product performance and to minimize the use of materials. At this point, nanotechnology can be used as an important tool. At the same time it has a great potential to improve growth. Nanotechnology implementations, in forest industry include: nanoparticle reinforced adhesives, nano-coated wood surfaces, nanocellulose.  It is expected to be the market of new products with superior properties whereby nanotechnology near future. And countries are permanently increasing their investments in this issue. As a result, in this study, it is aimed to give general information usage areas and market of nanomaterials in forest industry.
