The basis of interpersonal relationships is constituted by social relations. In order to be able to sustain social interactions, it is necessary to obey some rules. Empathy may be also accepted as an agent that is facilitating social interactions.
This study is carried out with the aim of investigating empathetic tendency levels of Football trainers. In total 58 trainers, 18 of whom are women and 40 of them men, participating in Trainer Course from different regions of Turkey, were included in the study. As data collection tool, with the aim of measuring daily potential developing empathy of individual, Empathic Tendency Scale developed by Dökmen in 1988 (ETS) was used. In analysing of the Data, T-Test was used in comparing of two independent variables of frequence distribution, and Anowa Varience Analysis technique was used in the comparison of more than two independent variables. The distinction between groups’ ideas (P:0,05) was commented by considering P:0.05 significant level.
According to the results obtained, it is seen that the women’s empathic tendencies have higher than those of the men according to gender distributions of the trainers numerically, but there was statistically significant result. However, there were no significant distinction between empathic tendency levels and age gender, marital status, education, duration of being sporter, the statue he or she played football, being a trainer, duration of being a trainer and variables of license level of being trainer.
