PARENTAL MONITORING AND SUPPORT BEHAVIORS PERCEIVED BY ADOLESCENTS

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the adolescents? perceptions of parental support and parental monitoring One hundred and seventy seven students from nine and ten grade students participated to this study ?Mother and Father Support and Monitoring Behaviors? questionnaire prepared by researchers was used to gather data The results indicated that perceived parental mother and father monitoring behaviors were significantly different in terms of adolescent?s gender and the number of siblings Perceived father monitoring behavior was also found significantly different in terms of the marriage status of parents Findings also showed that as the number of children increased perceived mother support decreased in return

ERGENLERİN ALGILADIKLARI EBEVEYN İZLEME VE DESTEK DAVRANIŞLARI

Abstract

Bu araştırma anne baba desteği ve izleme davranışlarının ergenler tarafından nasıl algılandığının incelenmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır Araştırmanın örneklemini 9 ve 10 sınıfa devam eden toplam 177 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan ?Anne Baba Destek ve İzleme Davranışları? anketi kullanılmıştır Yapılan istatistiksel değerlendirmeler sonucunda ergenler tarafından algılanan anne baba izleme davranışlarında cinsiyet ve kardeş sayısına baba izleme davranışlarında ise anne babanın evli olma durumuna göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılıklar bulunmuştur Algılanan anne baba destek davranışlarında ise çocuk sayısı arttıkça anne desteğinin azaldığı görülmüştür
