Abstract
The fact that it has not been able to produce an effective solution to combat Covid-19, which is the biggest global problem it has faced since World War, has opened up the reason for the existence of the United Nations, which is already seriously questioned. Similarly, the World Health Organization, which is the specialization institution of the United Nations, did not show the performance expected from it; it was subjected to severe criticism. The USA has decided to suspend the fund they have provided to the Organization, especially since it did not conduct an effective investigation on China, which it accused of Covid-19, and did not perform its duties properly. This situation makes it difficult to take collective measures at a universal level. The United Nations Security Council, which has been given the primary responsibility for the protection of international peace and security, could not act due to the mutual accusations and disagreements of permanent members. On the other hand, it is ironic that the states most affected by the outbreak are permanent members of the Security Council. It is expected that the United Nations will take action as soon as possible to prevent the states from closing their borders and fighting cooperative methods instead of unilateral methods of struggle. The socio-economic crises that will emerge after the Covid-19 outbreak can only be overcome with global cooperation.
