Peer Review Process

IPSUS is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed social science journal published biannually.

Submission Review process consists of three steps and can easily be followed by authors via DergiPark system.

Pre-Review Process

The author (or corresponding author) submits the paper to the journal via DergiPark. In order for the evaluation process to run more efficiently, it is important that the paper submitted complies with the spelling rules specified in the Author  Guidelines. In this process, editorial board evaluate submissions on the basis of overall quality in terms of scientific standards and whether they fall in the scope of the journal.  At this stage, submissions can be rejected or the review process continues with peer review process. This process usually takes 1-2 weeks.

Peer Review Process

In this process, at least two referees are appointed by the editorial board. The referees evaluate submissions on the basis of soundness, importance of contribution, originality, quality of presentation, appropriate comparison to related work, and convincing evaluation of the proposed approach. The peer review process is organized in at least two rounds and usually takes 8-12 weeks. According to the referee reports and the revisions made by the author, the editorial board decide whether to accept submissions for publication. The result of the peer review process is notified to the author with referee reports.

Editing Process

The paper submissions that have successfully passed the peer review process must be edited according to the guidelines of the journal stated in the "Author Guidelines". The author(s) is responsible for editing and uploading the final version compatible with the guidelines to the DergiPark system. After the completion of this process, the article is made ready to be published in the journal’s March or September issue.

Double-Blind Peer Review

IPSUS operates double-blind peer review policy. In order to maintain this system, manuscripts are delivered to the referees with no identifying information about the author and vice versa. All Peer-Review process is conducted objectively.

To ensure that, we kindly ask authors to submit their works in two separate files:

(1) Author Details

(2) The Anonymized Manuscript.

We are also expecting from authors to follow some requirements in their manuscripts as below.

Do not write your name, affiliation or any other identifying information about the author.

Do not use statements to refer your previous works like ‘as we …… before’. Instead you could prefer citing your previous works as (ABC, 2019).

Do not mention your funding sources

Do not add acknowledgement parts

Do anonymize all sort of information that may reveal the identity of the author.
