Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES


The writing guidelines for the International Review of Migration and Refugee Studies Journal of Gaziantep University Migration Institute are as follows:
1. Articles should be written according to the Turkish Language Association's writing guidelines.
2. The margins of the article should be 2.5 cm on the right, left, bottom, and top.
3. For Turkish articles, the Turkish title should be written in 14-point bold Times New Roman font at the top, and the English title should be written in 14-point italic Times New Roman font at the bottom, with only the first letters of the words capitalized. For English articles, the English title should be written in 14-point bold Times New Roman font at the top, and the Turkish title should be written in 14-point italic Times New Roman font at the bottom, with only the first letters of the words capitalized.
4. The article should not contain any information about the author(s), such as their name, surname, or university name.
5. For studies requiring ethics committee approval, information about the approval (committee name, date, and number) should be included in the methods section and on one of the first or last pages of the article. For case reports, information about the informed consent form should be included in the article. In addition, the Ethics
Committee Decision Document must be uploaded to the system.
6. Information indicating that the article was produced from a master's thesis, doctoral thesis, conference presentation, etc. should not be included in the article as a footnote, etc. This information should be entered into the system as additional information when the article is submitted. If the article proceeds to the publication process, the authors will be asked to provide the necessary information separately.
7. Both Turkish and English articles must include a Turkish Abstract and an English
Abstract section. The Turkish Abstract and English Abstract sections should be justified, no more than 300 words, 10-point font, 0 pt before and after, and Times New Roman style with 1 cm line spacing.
8. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords must be provided.
G. Turkish articles must include an Extended Abstract section written in English,
between 750-1000 words, following the English and Turkish Abstract sections. The Extended Abstract section must include the subject, problem, purpose, importance, method, and result (The Extended Abstract section should only be included in Turkish articles. This section should not be written in English articles).
10. The article title should be written in Times New Roman font, 14 point, bold, centered, with 1 cm line spacing and 6 pt before and after. Other headings in the article text should

have only the first letter of each word capitalized, written in 12 point font with 6 pt before and after.
11. The Times New Roman font style in 12-point size should be used for the introduction and all body sections following the introduction, including headings.
- The first paragraph of the introduction and the headings following the introduction should not begin with a direct quotation.
- Paragraphs should not consist of a single sentence.
- Line spacing, including headings, should be 1 cm.
- Paragraph spacing should be 1.25 cm.
- Paragraph spacing should be 6 pt before and after.
- Body text should be justified.
- There should be no space between headings and the preceding paragraph (heading format is shown below).
-Headings should not begin with numbers.
-In-text citations should follow the APA 7 guidelines.
-Block quotations longer than three lines should be set off in a separate paragraph using 10-point font, with the entire paragraph indented 1.25 cm from the left margin.
-Footnotes should be created in 10-point Times New Roman font.
-When tables are used, the table number and all explanatory text should be written above the table in 10-point font, with the title in bold and justified (Table 1: Table example).
-The explanatory text for figures, graphs, photographs, and images should be below them (Figure 1: Figure example).
-There should be no separate space between the figure/table and the explanatory text.
12. Only additional information and explanations should be provided in footnotes.

Extended Abstract
Articles should include an Extended Abstract of 750-1000 words after the English and Turkish Abstracts. Extended Abstract: Should include the topic, problem, purpose, importance, method, and results.


Introduction
In Word, you can use the Journal Body style from the style gallery above for all your paragraphs. The body text begins immediately after the Abstract and Summary. Body text: Times New Roman 12 point, justified, 1 tab space at the beginning of each paragraph, 1.25 line spacing
This is very important. There should be 6pt spacing between paragraphs. Right-click, select "Paragraph" from the menu that appears, and set 6pt spacing before and after.
If quotations are longer than three lines, they should start at the left margin of the paragraph without quotation marks:
Any quotation longer than three lines or 40 words should be written in the journal block quote style described above, or aligned on both sides, with the entire paragraph
indented 1.25 cm and in 10-point font. There should be a 6nk or 6pt space between it and the subheading (Sağıroğlu and Yılmaz, 2004, p. 150).
Headings Never Begin with a Number (Level 1)

When using tables and figures, apply the formatting rules specified below.
After the table number, use a colon instead of a period. All explanatory text should be 10 point, the title should be bold, the rest should be normal, and there should be no table borders.

below, in 10-point font, with the title in bold and the rest in normal font. There is no need to leave a 6nk space between figures and tables and paragraphs.
In articles with multiple authors, the author order is the order entered by the author(s) when the article is uploaded, and no changes can be made later in the DergiPark
system. Therefore, care should be taken when entering the author order into the system.
