Abstract

IV. (X.) yüzyıla kadar kıraatlerin herhangi bir sınırlamaya tâbi tutulmadan tedavülde olduğu müsellemdir. Onları ilk defa sayısal olarak sınırlandıran İbn Mücâhid (ö. 324/936) olmuştur. Dolayısıyla İbn Mücâhid’in söz konusu eylemi hem Doğulu hem de Batılı akademisyenleri onun Kitâbü’s-Seb‘a adlı eserini derinlemesine ele almaya sevketmiştir. Bu meyanda kaleme alınan kitaplardan biri Nasser’in The Second Canonization of the Qurʾān (324/936): Ibn Mujāhid and the Founding of the Seven Readings adlı eseridir.
