Al-Asr al-Saadah (Golden Age) is an Islamic concept which refers a period in which Holy Qur’an is revealed and a period Prophet Muhammed lived in as a model for human beings and has trained his companions and a period which Islam is issued and applied as a religion in society. It means happiness period and an age which people lived in happiness. Family, as an institution which is formed by individuals with kinship, is the smallest social group. Society is considered based on family. Social services is a field which includes programs about solving poverty and inequalities which appear in social groups in society, avoiding problems which occur in society because of variable social conditions and developing human resources. It is a field which includes services and programs, organized for ensuring welfare of individual, family and society. Family welfare is one of important issues of this field. There are many activities of social services in al- Asr al-Saadah. Establishing a healthy family and its continuity, making a healthy contact between individuals in family and offering solutions for problems are important topics of social services for family. For all these problems Prophet Muhammad with his expressions and practices has built a strong system and pursued the continuity of it.
