The Research of Relationship Between The Religios Attitude And Mental Health in Students of University According to Some Variables
Abstract
The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between the religious attitudes of university students and mental health. The study was carried out by the students of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University and especially the university students who are studying at the universities in Istanbul and volunteering to participate in the research. The study group consisted of 391 persons, 315 female and 76 male. Personal Information Form, Ok-Religious Attitude Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, SPSS-21 program was used. In the study, the relationship between the variables was examined. In general, it was observed that the religious attitudes of the sample were positive and the BSI scores were also average. As a result of the research, there was no significant relationship between the religious attitudes of the research group and the BSI scores in general, and a negative correlative correlation was found between the religious attitude scores and the "Hostility" subscale of the BSI. In the result of the findings obtained, significant differences were found in terms of the total score of religious attitude scores and the academic achievement grade points of some sub - factors, positive correlation, gender, education levels of parents and parents, and negative correlations were found only with age. There were no significant differences between the scores of religious attitude scale and BSI scale in terms of other demographic variables.
