Yadé Kara's Novels Selam Berlin and Café Cyprus
under the Perspective of the Role of Identity Constitution in the Society
Intercultural literature in Germany has experienced a considerable change both in thematic and formal aspects since the beginning of the 1970s. In this article, two novels by Yadé Kara, a young contemporary writer of the last generation of Turkish-German literature, will be analyzed in terms of the role of society in identity constitution and the results of the denial of individual and cultural characteristics by society.
