We will present a longitudinal observation of a student (Caroline) who is 4.5 years old. She is in a kindergarten in the average section with a partial immersion curriculum. We will learn what communication strategies the child puts in place to communicate, to express her desires and action intentions. She uses different types of code switching alternately to achieve its speech acts. The very fine use of L1 (French) and L2 (German) shows a level of highly developed linguistic awareness.
